For a young woman like Sheila, attending camp could be life-changing! Sheila attended camp even though she had planned to take her own life. She went to the opening session, a time of crowd games, worship, and a drama presentation. Then a man came out and started sharing about the love of Jesus. How Jesus was sent by God to save the world by dying on the cross and rising from the grave three days later. The speaker said “You are loved, you are cared for, and God has a plan for you”. Sheila walked forward and accepted Christ as her Savior that day. Sheila had found a new hope, a reason to live. She went home from camp and told her siblings they also needed to attend camp. All three of her siblings were saved because Sheila went to camp. Today, Sheila is a key leader within our ministry, an integral part of our team following up with campers so that they can be plugged into their local churches.
